My new work station

Well my beloved got the bit between his teeth today and, with the assistance of Sarah's boyfriend Dan for some extra muscle, he put in my new work station in the playroom.

Woohoo!!!

The worktop measures 3ft deep by 8ft wide in one big area - the only minor annoyance is it is so deep that the foot pedal lead for my machine isn't long enough to thread up the back and still enable me to reach the pedal - mind you that could also be the fact that I am a tad vertically challenged with very short legs

In addition, as the only light in the room is behind me when I'm sitting here, he's rigged up a temporary spotlight fitting above the work area so I can see what I'm doing after dark

I have no excuse now I can quilt to my heart's content - just have to find a magic fairy to do that sandwiching first ;oP

Excellent - bet it won't stay clear like that for long once the creative muse kicks in! P.S. Did you get my e-mail with the muffin quantities? It sort of disappeared into the ether once I'd sent it - no record of it as sent mail so not sure if it arrived.

What a great space to work in...Does your DH expect it to stay as clean and organized as it is in the photo?!

Those guys come in handy every now and then. You're going to love having your own space that you don't have to assemble/dissassemble everytime you sew.

Nice set up. What is out the window for you to see while working?

What a lucky girl!!! I'd love to have a space of my own. Just think you can leave everything out. Luxury!

What a warm and welcoming workspace, I love the color, too; it looks like it is filled with sunshine. Many happy quilts will emerge from here!

I am so jealous! Not of the work station (although I do love and envy that), but of the lights!!! I would kill for good lighting in my workspace!

Regarding the foot pedal, you could have Nigel drill a cord access hole behind where your machine sits and poke the cord thru there.

It looks great Anne! Use it in good health and creativity!

How nice! When I claimed my daughter's bedroom as my sewing room after she went away to school, my quilting output really went up! It's so nice to not have to "put away" after every sew or for that matter drag everything out each time I have a few minutes! Envious of the width of your sewing table!

Ooh la la! Very nice indeed. I'm picking that it will take less than a month to look as if you have been working to your heart's content!

Yay oh yay! I am drooling right here as my very own space is years away!

So sorry to hear Sarah wasn't selected. But you're right - a big leap up in grades. Next year, right?
