These were two of the quilts from our show - oddly enough they are both by the same quilter who is very proficient.

The scrap quilt is very reminiscent of something you might find on Bonnie Hunter's Quiltville site - it was just behind the entry desk and everyone commented on how 'sunny' it was.

The peacock was called 'What a Show-off!' and rightly so (everyone had a chuckle at that label) - the applique was exquisite and the machine quilted stippling on the background was pretty good too

I'll try and get back with some more photos before I head off to Devon for a week tomorrow

what very different styles from the same quilter

Beautiful work. A lot of heart and soul in both pieces. And yet quite a contrast in style. Ever thought about how many tiny pieces are in that patchwork???
Have fun this weekend. Enjoy your trip.

Oh Ann what fun to see such different styles from the same quilter! That is too fun! And not only styles but color choices. Thanks for the pics! I can't wait to see more!

WHat a versatile quilter. I love the scrappy one but that is just me. I love scrappy.

Nicew, thanks for sharing - I love a quilt show - even a virtual one!

Looks like the quilter is not hide bound by any technique, color or quilting "genre" or like to try it all. Good for her!

My neighbor has two peacocks--loud obnoxious things though lovely tail feathers like the quilt.

Great quilts. I'm making Bonnie's version of the second one now!

Lovely quilts - but the scrappy one has to be my favourite. Have a lovely time in Devon. (And thanks for the recommendations for Berlin.)

Love the name of that applique quilt!! Sounds like the show was a hit. We had our big show this weekend in Canberra. The variety in quilting is something that never ceases to amaze me!

I agree with quiltpixie--such different quilts from the same person. That is a good thing! I don't like being pigeonholed into doing all the same type of quilts. thanks for sharing--hope to see more pictures of the show!

Lovely quilts Anne...and actually it's nice to have so much variety in a quilt show. I know for myself that a quilt show of mostly magnificant applique quilts can leave me uninspired. It's nice to have the scrap quilts there too. Sorry about the upcoming "back to work". I guess Sept. creeps into all of our lives...and soon.
