I've picked out some different fabrics - this time to match the decor in my lounge
I'm still unsure about the darker aqua - seems bright rather than dark - but I can't find anything more suitable
That'll give me a finished size of 9"
Haven't abandoned the hearts - stitched down the bindings and added buttons to two more last night but as they're surprises to go in the post I shan't show them to you until they've arrived safely
Ok on with more HST's and QST's - must be a glutton for punishment - who knows I might just do a teeny weeny version like Margery's yet!
PS - that aqua just didn't sit comfortably - a definite case of fabric indigestion! So I had a further rummage in my supplies and found a darker version
Got there in the end!

I love the color combinations that you're using!
They are pretty little blocks...no wonder you went straight into another set. Yep, the block on the right is better. Fabric indigestion! LOL
Very pretty! Any of the colors would work up nicely I think. But so small! That would take me forever but I know you work fast. Looking forward to seeing the finished product!
I agree and like the darker one better!!! I imagine you'll be posting it tomorrow-your so fast!!
These are lovely and very much bringing spring to mind. I also really enjoy making the churn dash block.
Wow, you've chosen some vibrant colours.
I like the darker one too. I've pulled the fabrics. Now all I've got to do is to prise myself out of the chair and get down to La Poste.
I have been catching up on your last posts. I love the overdyed fabric, with those brilliant hearts!! Really lovely. They are all nice, but the brights win my vote.
Hope your son's eye has recovered. We all hate to see our children hurt!
Yes, you were correct the darker colour is much better than the bright for your churn dash!
These churn dashes are wonderful. Those are some tiny HST's! Like the darker fabric. Looks like fun.
Sio
tell us again what size your finished churn block is (the one as is and the one that gets cut diagonally)? or do you piece them separately?
Oh the idea for an echoed churn dash is inspired! When I read your first post, I was thinking of a shadow under a churn dash, like Judy Martin does in her new book. I'm glad you found this one. I haven't seen anything like it before. Yours are coming along nicely.
I am using that fabric indigestion color in my shakespeare in the park quilt. I too wonder if it is going to look okay, but I'm leaving it in, for a totally scrappy look.
They are so pretty
