Titles done - now onto the names of the players, all eleven of them plus the three substitutes making fourteen. Counting up that makes 172 more letters in total - gulp. You might guessed by now that I'm a bit of a number freak!
Right with the match standing at One - Nil at half time, I'm off back to watch the second half against Sweden - hope Michael Owen's not too seriously hurt :o(

What size do you reckon the quilt will be when it's finished? Are there any really long names in there? (Forgive my ignorance, but I couldn't name even one member of the Liverpool Team if I tried). Just sitting here listening to the news - don't get your hopes up about Michael Owen :-(
Oh my - gulp! I'll watch the progress of all those names from the sidelines and I'll be cheering you on Anne. And don't forget about all the E's you'll be doing.
Gail L.
hope you have relatively few "fouls" with your "e's" or other letters...
I'll continue watching your blog to see the progress of this quilt. Actually, I'm going to backread to see the beginning too. Yes, Venice is magical. I plan on going again. Thanks for visiting my blog.
The letters look great. You are certainly busy!
We watched the game at 12 noon here in Canada - I was watching as Michael Owen went down - it really looked bad.
An interesting note - growing up in Canada when the National Anthem is sung here we usually also sing "God Save the Queen" I remember just singing "God Save the Queen" before we had our own National Anthem in the mid 1960's.
Congratulations on finishing the title! Hopefully the names aren't too long. Like Gail said, you will be cheered on all the way to the finish!
The longest will be Fernando Morientes - but I plan to do the names in smaller letters with lower case after the initial capitals - gulp! nothing like jumping in at the deep end Tonya eh? - for all you football pundits I do know he's gone to Valencia but he was in the FA Cup winning squad :o) The quilt should be a generous single bed size - which will no doubt please any future DIL as I'm sure she wouldn't necessarily want a football quilt on their bed :o)
The letters are looking great Anne...and like Fiona, I'm wondering how big WILL this quilt be???
That's alot of letters!!
Great job on those letters. You'll be a real pro at this by the time you've finished the whole team :)
Looking so great. That W is fantastic - awesome job. Hey, I think jumping in and playing is the BEST way to learn - you're doing so great. You could always just do the last names and then depending on how big it's getting go back and do the first names. I'm sure as you get more practise you can make the letters smaller too. Fantastic - big pats on the back.
