Where did you get that hat?

I couldn't resist this one - It's Royal Ascot this week - a horse racing festival at a course near London which is renowned for the great and the good parading in preposterous headwear! - not into horse racing personally, each to their own, but came across this picture on the BBC News website and felt compelled to share - can you just imagine spending all day with that on your head - maybe I'm in the wrong job - I ought to be designing frivolous quilted headgear - how the other half live eh? :o)

That's an outrageous hat Anne!! I hope a sudden gust of wind didn't launch her into the stratosphere!

Did you see that Australian horse that won one of the races? Bought by a taxi driver for $1250 Australian and now a megastar!

Thanks for posting this picture - it gave me a good laugh. She must have stolen the show.

It looks very Star Trek...an ambassador from another galaxey perhaps?!

Do I need to pick one of these up before I head over or should I wait until I get to London? :)

I guess it takes a strong neck and an enormous ego to carry that hat off!

Whew, I think I'd have a headache after wearing something like that!

My headache came back after just looking at that! Glad they have something 'entertaining' to do...

Well -- that was my chuckle for the day. Loved it.

I wonder if they are going to start making knock offs? I think I might need me one.

Wow! I have to tell you that hat takes the prize. I lived in Louisville, close to where the KY Derby takes place. At the Derby, hats are as important as the race, the more outrageous, the better, so I've seen LOTS of hats. This one takes the cake!! Simply amazing.

BTW, thanks for the 'secret ballot' idea! That's brilliant!
Thanks!

Why on earth are we quilting when we could be designing hats like that????

what the heck is that monostrosity, LOL? Almost like the old "flying nun" bonnet from an old American sitcom. I would have such a headache wearing that, wouldn't you?
