Whoo-hoo - first bullseye block completed

The day here is hot hot hot! - well okay it is for England anyway - top 20's and beautiful blue sky.

Quiet(er) house - still got the kids of course - so decided to go to Ham Hill which is a hill top country park near Yeovil about half an hour away and wouldn't have been suitable for the oldies if they were still here.

Going back into years BC it was an iron age hill fort so has lots of levels and paths for kids to hurtle up and down - sadly it was so hot today that the hurtling was substantially subdued - maybe a place for a spring or autumn day. After that it was a strategic Roman fortification in the first century AD and has subsequently been quarried by the Victorians in the 19th century for the beautiful deep honey coloured limestone that many of the local cottages are built from. The views from the top over the whole county were hazy with the heat but you could still see for miles - forgot the camera so can't share them with you this time.

My parents left at around 8.30am and I spent the morning at the cutting table and sewing machine working on my scrappy bullseye quilt. I've started off working on thirty blocks (5x6) and have got to the middle circle stage on them all but couldn't resist completing four of them to make a final block.

I'm very pleased with it - looking forward to putting all the rest together - thanks again Jeanne for the easy to follow instructions

Hi Anne, I just popped by to see if you had got any further - looks good! They seem like they might be quite fast to do - always a bonus in my book.

The blocks look good. I like the fabrics you have chosen.

Lucky it is sunny and warm there. We are having rain and then some more rain. We are having an outdoor wedding on June 24th so I am praying the rain ends soon, or at least June 23rd!
