I could get seriously carried away with this...

Well in and around getting tea ready for everyone tonight I rustled up the other ten blocks and then put the centre panel together.

Although there's a really strange mix of colours I really like this.

I think I will do piano key borders but not exact sizes or perpendicular - a bit Tonya-esque - I also think I will have to put a good sprinkling of the brighter shades along those sides.

One of the teachers at the school I work at is getting married in August - we've been invited to the evening reception. She is one of my favourites and I'd really quite like to make her a quilt. If I can surreptitiously find out what colour her bedroom is I might put something like this together but with larger blocks - think I'll have to don my Sherlock Holmes hat for the fact-finding mission

What lovely quilting you do. I love to see it, but can't do it myself. I just buy and sell vintage and antique instead!

How nice to see someone else local to me (Somerton). I could have waved when you went to Glastonbury. Belated birthday wishes!

This little quilt looks really fun. I can hardly wait to try and figure out how to make those blocks.

Its looking lovely. Those fabrics certainly are yummy. I especially love the pink and the orange ones.

They would make a lovely wedding quilt. Here's how someone once tricked me into telling her my color scheme -- she went around to the coworkers stating she was thinking of redoing her kitchen and quizzed each on the colors of their room, what they liked and disliked, and what they might change to, if they had the chance.

what is the pattern? I really like this and have some batiks that I can use... mmm the ideas are flowing.

If she knows you're a quilter, you're going to have to be VERY sneaky asking about bedroom colors... lol

If you find any useful - how do you spell it - subterfuges? for finding quilt preferences, let me know. For some reason, the people I always THINK would like scrappy and bright seem to be the ones that are really craving a simple, graphic, two color quilt.

It's just beautiful. Great way to use up your hand dyes.

That looks wonderful. The pattern works so well with the hand dye fabrics.

I think they are great colours - they are all quite complementary to each other.

Hi Anne - No shop now although I used to be in the antiques centre. Why not come to the Shepton Mallet Fair on 12/13 May? Let me know if you decide to. Sue

Sometimes that "strange mix of colors" is what makes the quilt work. Once again I really do like this pattern and it's versatility. And I probably will try it in June. :-)

Why on earth are you doing me more blocks!!! You've already done loads, but the more the merrier. Thank you so very much. I love that colour scheme and, yes, it is very Tonya'esque. Our Wisteria has been and gone and, yes, I am sure it is a month early. Oh and belated happy birthday. Have PM'd you with instructions on how to get rid of the spammer.
